Edward's Story
Edward, who was nearing retirement, was riding his Honda Gold Wing on a Bank Holiday Monday. He was in a long line of slow moving traffic when a frustrated motorist at a side junction thought that she spotted a gap between two vehicles and she pulled out quickly; unfortunately Edward and his Gold Wing were occupying the “gap” and the motorist drove straight into the side of his machine which resulted in Edward being paralysed and his pillion passenger sustaining serious injuries. Liability for this accident was quickly admitted and an interim payment was obtained to enable Edward to purchase a bungalow in his coastal town which was fully adapted for his needs. A nursing regime was set up, with our assistance, and we helped him with the purchase of specialist equipment including a large adapted vehicle and a range of wheelchairs including an all-terrain wheelchair which enabled him to go bird watching.
