What's happening in Barratts' World

The end of the season is upon us and a new one is about to begin. I am pleased to say that Barratts continue to achieve excellent results for their clients and this year has been no exception. We have maintained our reputation as being one of the country’s leading motorcycle solicitors and all of our clients come to us through personal recommendation. We are also the recommended solicitors for three national motorcycle organisations together with several individual motorcycle clubs and motorcycle dealerships.

There have been some interesting reported motorcycle cases where a collision has occurred when a biker was filtering. However, none has taken us by surprise as Judges are relatively consistent when determining fault having regard to previous decided cases. You may want to read my filtering article which gives a summary of those persuasive cases.

Overall, from a personal point of view, it has also been a good year, apart from when Mrs Magoo drove into the side of my Blackbird. My Osteopath banned me from riding for a few months to allow my back injury to resolve so I missed my favourite Christmas Toy Runs. I have managed to go on numerous ride-outs, rallies and biking events. These include a trip to Belgium and a couple of course with i2i when after 40 years, I got my knee down…in the wet…and not followed by every other body part.

I am looking forward to getting back in the saddle and hope to see you out there enjoying your motorcycling. Until then……

Ride Safe.

The season has been going really well for me. I am currently lying 5th in the British Masters Championship. I travelled up to Dean Moore in Cumbria in April for the 2nd round which was an amazing track in the hills, I finished 5 th , 17 th , 6th and 10th to give me an overall of 9th for the weekend which I was pleased with as this was the 1st visit to the track. Two weeks later I travelled to Pontrilas in Wales for the 3rd round. I finished 6th overall for the weekend again this was my 1st time at the track so I was happy with that. A further two weeks later and we travelled to Foxhills in Swindon for the 4th round-this is probably the best track in the country and where the British Motocross Grand Prix is held. It rained in the morning and I qualified in 2nd which was fantastic. I finished 3rd 4th and two 8ths which gave me an overall of 4th for the weekend and I have moved into 5th place in the championship! I'm loving riding the 450 and looking forward to the rest of the season.
